Shadowland Messages: Subcultures & Faith
What does Faith in the subcultures really mean...
For
those who have spent many years in the subcultures and have come out of
it to Christianity....the very thought of Christians being within the
subcultures seems nearly impossible due to the spiritual darkness and
bondage within the Shadowlands. There ARE many things out there tied
into the subcultures that MUST be broken with to serve Christ. Our
lives must line up with the Word, or we are but in bondage ourselves, to
a Christianity that does not glorify the Lord, but the flesh instead.
"Rebellion, Necromancy, Idolitry (anything placed above God), Lust, Sexual Perversions, Sex (outside of marriage), Murder, Cutting, Suicide (attempts), Drugs, Drinking, Gluttony, Self-Harm, Injustice, Oppression, Victimisation, Abuse, Wrath, Hate, and anything other things to which God says 'No'..."
All these MUST be broken with to serve the Lord with our whole hearts.
A true follower of the Lord does not practice these things.
A true follower of the Lord does not practice these things.
What then, does it mean to be a follower of Christ in the Shadowlands? It is not much different than for a normal Christian, other than we're in the heat of battle 24/7. It means we must be in our Bibles, in Worship, and in Prayer all the more.
Many times our faith is expressed through Early Christian forms, the rich heritage of our faith. From Art to Music, from Worship to Prayer, we have a history that inspires a new generation for Him.
What in many ways it boils down to, do we follow the early Christian forms of missions which celebrated the uniqueness with which God made us, or the 1500s-early 1900s form, which required new believers to become like mainstream Europeans to be true believers?
In the end, Christianity is FIRST, culture second. What is not of God is gone, and what God can use remains. How then are we who follow the Lord going to respond?
