The Outposts: How to start one?

Image
T he Outposts are places to minister from and to serve those who are in ministry around us.  They are places to refresh, renew, refuel, and restock so that one can head back out into ministry. A married couple oversees an outpost, with their home being a central hub for their operations.  Bible Studies are hosted in their gathering room, food is served, and prayers are offered.  This outpost acts like a hub of ministry/ministry partnership within the local community, and the face of the larger Shaddow Cross's ministry network.   From here Antioch Bags are gathered, both for the missionaries/pastors themselves and for those whom they serve.  Guest rooms  (or more often guest cabins)  are provided for those coming for longer than an afternoon.   To start an outpost a couple first must pray and see if their home is in order according to the Scriptures ( 1 Timothy 3 &  Proverbs 31:10-31 ).  Secondly, they have applied themselves to...

Shadowland Messages: Subcultures & Faith

Image
What does Faith in the subcultures really mean... For those who have spent many years in the subcultures and have come out of it to Christianity....the very thought of Christians being within the subcultures seems nearly impossible due to the spiritual darkness and bondage within the Shadowlands.  There ARE many things out there tied into the subcultures that MUST be broken with to serve Christ.  Our lives must line up with the Word, or we are but in bondage ourselves, to a Christianity that does not glorify the Lord, but the flesh instead. " Rebellion ,  Necromancy, Idolitry (anything placed above God) ,  Lust ,  Sexual Perversions,  Sex  (outside of   marriage),    Murder,  Cutting,  Suicide  (attempts),  Drugs,  Drinking,  Gluttony,  Self- Harm , Injustice, Oppression, Victimisation, Abuse,  Wrath,  Hate, and anything other things to which God says 'No'..." All these MUST be br...

Desert Refuge Wire: Spring '23

Image
Dear Friends, Family, and Supporters, Spring has come with her fresh blooms, warming temps, and bright sunshine.  Not that this spring has not come without her troubles.  Our Gold HHR "Traveller" is out of commission for the time being, and we are currently borrowing Rob's parents' spare truck.   That being said, we are still busy with Rodeo, Worship, and Circle C Church ministry. This late winter/spring, Rob and Morria have set up tables representing the church at several local rodeos. Work still moves forward on the return to Dine' bi Keyah, the American Southwest, slated for 2025.  Steps are being taken for training and preparation as we go forward, with more details coming soon!  Again, dear friends and family, we thank you for your prayers and support! N eeds: Prayers for the Nickles: a) For Rob and Morria's continued vision, spiritual protection, and cultural sensitivity as they serve. b) The salvation of those they serve among, and the discipl...
